Dr. Joellyn Kieren, DVM
Owner
I graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at MSU in 1981. Peter and I got married and moved to Newaygo County the same year. We started a veterinary practice out of our home. That went well and two years later we moved into a larger facility. We have four children, 1 son and 3 daughters. In December of 2000, our lives changed drastically when Peter had a severe stroke. I am proud of the high quality care and flexible hours we provide for our clients.

Mary
Veterinary Assistant
I have worked at NVS since 1995 as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. I enjoy doing a little of everything-from answering the telephone to assisting with surgeries. That way I get to know you and your pets! In my spare time I enjoy riding my horses, going on carriage rides and working on our hobby farm. At home, I have 8 dogs, 5 cats, 1 goat and 4 horses. Owning such a variety of pets adds to the experience I bring to the clinic and clients.

Hi my name is Leslie and this is one of my many pets Sierra. I was raised on a dairy farm and moved away when I married a crop farmer. I continue to enjoy my job as a veterinary assistant and inventory management . I enjoy the challenges and the rewards my job offers.

Kobi
Veterinary Assistant
I started working at NVS in 2002 after graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Animal Science. I enjoy my job for a list of reasons-and I am proud to say that I don't dread coming to work. There is never a dull moment-between clients' stories of their pets, emergencies and even the occasional creative nail trim. When I'm not at work I spend my time with my husband and two young boys. I enjoy volunteering at my son's school, photography, going to the sand dunes and the motocross track. We recently adopted a stray kitty named "Goose" that my boys are excited to help raise. |

Kelly
Veterinary Receptionist
I'm Kelly and the cute little beagle that you see is my dog Franny. I have been a receptionist here at NVS since 1999 and love my job. I love my co-workers-all women(can you believe it)? They are dear friends to me-like sisters really and they always make me laugh. I definitely love my postion as a receptionist. It suits me well. In fact YOU-the client- and serving you is the best part of my job. I LOVE getting to know you and watching how your pet grows and changes from year to year. On my days off I like to read and spend time with my family and friends. I like to hike and ride my bicycle, and I also volunteer at the Alpha Family Center. |
