Internships Each academic year, we offer one internship to a high school senior interested in becoming a veterinarian. The internship is coordinated through the high school and the students spend two to three hours each day at the clinic. The intern will observe the daily ongoings of the clinic and learn many valuable skills. The curriculum is designed depending on the specific interests of the student. Former interns have learned laboratory techniques, animal restraint, blood drawing and injection, surgical sterilization and procedure, and a wealth of information about animal health. The internship is competitive. If interested, please submit a cover letter stating your future goals and a brief resume to the clinic by June 1st. Interviews are conducted and one intern is chosen. Volunteer Positions For those wishing to gain experience in veterinary medicine, we always welcome volunteers. We ask that volunteers be at least 16 years of age. If interested, please contact the clinic and speak with Deb Byma regarding availability of positions. Job Shadowing For those students interested in a career as a veterinarian, we offer an opportunity to spend time observing one of our veterinarians. Job shadowing is available in half day positions depending on availability. We ask that students participating in shadowing be at least 14 years of age. If interested, please contact the clinic and speak with Deb Byma.
